According to Rosstat, the last half of the year marked a curious tendency: about 52.8% of new housing in the country was built on their own.
It is noteworthy that such indicators literally return the country in the period 1946-1950. And if earlier such statistics was explained by the post-war position, today it is a direct consequence of the long-term stay of Russia in a protracted crisis. Due to the long-term fall in the incomes of the population, people are forced to independently solve a housing issue, bypassing more expensive options. At the same time, Moscow and Leningrad region are located on the leading positions.
The overall growth rates of self-built housing, in comparison with the data of the previous half, demonstrate an increase of 32.6%, which is a record. Experts of the construction industry note that the level of interest in acquiring ready-made housing from investors has also decreased, which previously preferred to earn money on the difference of final prices, against the background of real estate prices. An additional impact was the input of restrictions on equity transactions.
